San Diego Pride

Saturday, July 18 & Sunday, July 19, 2020


Pride was not created out of a need to celebrate. Pride was created out of a response to trauma. Pride was created to galvanize our community in solidarity and strength. Pride is led by compassionate, bright, and determined community volunteers who bring their whole selves in service to our LGBTQ community. Pride connects us, not only to one another, but to vital services, resources, and opportunities for joy.


Volunteers are needed in 3 Different Categories:

  • INFORMATION BOOTH VOLUNTEERS: Volunteers will answer questions; give directions to guests; hand out event maps, entertainment schedule, vendor information; and manage the Lost and Found.   
  • MERCHANDISE BOOTH VOLUNTEERS: Volunteers will monitor the sale of official Pride and entertainer's merchandise, monitor the cash and credit card box, and provide assistance where needed. 
  • ​GUEST RELATIONS VOLUNTEERS: Volunteers will serve as "Pride Ambassadors" to festival guests.  They will be visible; roving inside and outside the festival assisting where needed, handing out material, answering questions/giving directions to festival guests.  Volunteers will basically be the eyes and ears of San Diego Pride staff.

Perks:  2-Day Free Admission to Pride Festival, free official Pride T-shirt, free meal with every shift, and access to Pride Village (free snacks and beverages to volunteers).

Vilano Beach Music Fest

This year’s annual MUSIC FEST 2020 is set for Saturday, May 9th overlooking the beautiful Atlantic Ocean at the Vilano Beach Oceanfront Park and Beach Pavilion. Country in the Sand features the Dewey Via Band; Rio Grande Band and national recording artist, Craig Hand with Salty Daugs. Suds in the sun and toes in the sand – a country music event.


Volunteer are needed to assist with festival set of the Beverage Garden, ID Check, Sales and Service.

VIDA's 4th Annual Bowl for Life 2020

Please join us on Sunday, June 7, 2020 for VIDA’s 4th Annual Bowl for Life – A Tribute to Selena fundraiser between the hours of 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Kearny Mesa Bowl, San Diego, CA. This year’s fundraiser is hosted by the fabulous and talented Michele Ada. DJ Calypzo will be spinning Selena’s greatest hits while you bowl.​


Volunteers are needed to help with raffle ticket sales and registration.

Pride of Hillcrest Block Party

The Pride of Hillcrest Block Party will return to Pride Plaza to kick-off San Diego Pride weekend in July, 2020. The event celebrates the culture, history, diversity and LGBTQ+ community that lives, works and plays in San Diego's most colorful and vibrant community. The event features a diverse line up of local and international talent. The festival features a craft cocktail bar and beer garden, food trucks, a go-go dances, a DJ dance party, and YOU! 


Volunteers are needed to staff various entry points with donation buckets.

Stepping Stones' The Recovery Ride

The Recovery Ride is a super fun charity bike ride now in it’s fifth year, that raises funds and awareness for local San Diego nonprofit organizations in the areas of recovery from alcohol and drugs, and HIV/AIDS education and treatment. Our three routes – 12 miles (the “Fun Ride”), 25 miles (the “Strand fide”) and 40 miles (the “Olympian Ride”) have a little bit of everything – enthusiasm, cheers, cupcakes and maybe a few tears – and will leave you with the feeling you just made a difference. Join us!


Volunteer are needed to assist with festival set-up, route support & cheer, food preparation, parking marshals, rider services, and volutneer check-in.   ​

United States Police & Fire Championships

Saturday, June 20, 2020 (Swim)


United States Police & Fire Championships is an Olympic-style competition with athletes representing law enforcement, firefighters, and officers from corrections, probation, border protection, immigration and customs from across the country. Athletes compete in 50 different sports in 35 venues through-out the County of San Diego.


Volunteers are needed to assist with timing, lap counting, registration and medal distribution.

West Coast Sevens: Gaelic Games

Saturday, May 22 - Sunday, May 23, 2020

The West Coast Sevens is an annual Gaelic Sports tournament held in San Diego over Memorial Day Weekend May 22- 24th, 2020.  GAA clubs from around the world play traditional Irish field sports such as men’s and ladies Gaelic football, Hurling and Camogie and youth.  For this tournament, games are modified from the traditional game of 15 players to seven players on a reduced size pitch of 100 yards by 60 yards and the playing time is reduced to 15 minutes a half in a pool play/round robin format.

Volunteers are needed in a variety of roles, including parking attendants, concessions, event set-up and breakdown, registeration, field coordinators, merchandise sales, beverage garden and runners.

Baker To Vegas Challenge Cup Relay

The largest law enforcment foot race in the world.  More than 260 teams will take part of this 120 mile relay.



We need 6 volunteers to assist with the distribution of 5000+ t-shirts to more than 260 teams.
