​​About Our Partner
The West Coast Sevens is an annual Gaelic Sports tournament held in San Diego over Memorial Day Weekend May 25, 2024.  GAA clubs from around the world play traditional Irish field sports such as men’s and ladies Gaelic football, Hurling and Camogie and youth.  For this tournament, games are modified from the traditional game of 15 players to seven players on a reduced size pitch of 100 yards by 60 yards and the playing time is reduced to 15 minutes a half in a pool play/round robin format.


VOLUNTEER NEEDS

  • Volunteer Tasks: Volunteers will assist in all aspects of the tournament from athlete registration, volunteer check-in, merchandise sales, concessions, field coordinators, and runners. 
  • Shift Date: Saturday, May 25
  • Shift Times:  Shifts are 4 hours please help as much as you can.
  • Location:  Southwestern College (located at 900 Otay Lakes Road, Chula Vista, 91910
  • Volunteer Benefits: Shirts, meal per shift, snacks

​The United States Police & Fire Championships is an Olympic-style competition for athletes representing law enforcement, firefighters, and officers from corrections, probation, border protection, immigration and customs from across the country. Athletes compete in 38 different sporting events at 28 venues throughout San Diego County. The 2024 United States Police & Fire Championships will be held June 8-15, 2024.


VOLUNTEER NEEDS

  • Volunteer Tasks: Volunteers will assist with staffing all aspect of the swim meet from timing, counting laps, to awarding medals.
  • Shift Date: Saturday, June 8
  • Shift #1: 6:15am - 12:00 noon
  • Location:  Mater Dei High School

This vibrant street festival Pride by the Beach boasts a mainstage and a community stage that showcase exceptional local entertainment exhilarating dance performances, dedicated youth and resource areas, tantalizing food and a wide array of over 130 retail and resource vendors. With a remarkable attendance for over 23,000 enthusiastic individuals and families. 


VOLUNTEER NEEDS

  • Volunteer Tasks: Volunteers will assist with staffing the festival Information Booth, and answering attendee questions regarding location of booths, entertainment and other festival questions.
  • Shift Date: Saturday, June 1
  • Shift #1: 9:00 - 12 noon
  • Shift #2: 12 noon - 3:00 pm
  • Shift #3: 3:00 - 6:00pm
  • Location:  Oceanside City Hall

LGBTQ+ Victory Fund works to achieve and sustain equality by increasing the number of out LGBTQ+ elected officials at all levels of government while ensuring they reflect the diversity of those they serve.
Since 1991, LGBTQ+ Victory Fund has helped elect thousands of LGBTQ+ people to positions at all levels of government. These LGBTQ+ voices have made significant contributions to advancing equality for LGBTQ+ Americans – from passing non-discrimination laws to defeating amendments to ban marriage equality.

In 1972, members of San Diego LGBTQ community started organizing the Imperial Court de San Diego Chapter of the International Imperial Court System, which was founded in 1965 in San Francisco. Plans were being made to produce a coronation ball, elect and crown San Diego’s first emperor and empress, and invite other court chapters in the United States and Canada to attend.


In the last 47 years, the Imperial Court de San Diego has raised millions of dollars for countless LGBTQ organizations and civil rights causes. They annually produce the Children’s Easter Egg Hunt, the Scott Carlson/Dan Ferbal Thanksgiving Community Dinner, Blanket and Clothing Drive, and established the Toni Atkins Lesbian Health Fund, the Queen Eddie Youth Fund, Nicky Awards, Harvey Milk/Nicole Murray Ramirez Scholarship Program (founded in 1979 and the first in the nation), Tijuana Assistance Fund, Grocery Hearts Food Campaign, Ben F. Dillingham Grant, etc.
